First Time Transporter Finds Love and Rescue Niche through Doobert

This “Do You Doobert” story is about Kimberly’s first “Doobert” transport.  Here’s her first person account of the day she met and transported “Pumpernickel”!

“I believe it was 8/2/16. It was a transport from Rescue Dogs Rock NYC and I was the next to the last leg, picking up on the RI/Conn border traveling to Attleboro MA. Pumpernickel, was my transport and I believe she was going to the Boston area for a foster home.

I had moved to MA and began looking into volunteering but I wanted to volunteer in an area that I felt passionate about. I found Doobert.com while searching for volunteer opportunities. This particular transport was my first ever transport and to simply say that I was touched would be an understatement.

Pumpernickel was an amazing dog with a sad story and I was moved by her. When I came home I was told that I was “glowing.” I found my niche and I felt proud to be a small part of something so much bigger than myself.

I often think of her and wonder how she is doing.I had moved to MA and began looking into volunteering but I wanted to volunteer in an area that I felt passionate about. Back story

A story and startling picture in the Pet Rescue Report shared the plight of Pumpernickel, and how Rescue Dogs Rock had stepped in to provide her the care and road to a future happy home.

According to the article, Pumpernickel “came into the New York City Animal Care and Control as a stray; a tumor the size of a cantaloupe attached to her abdomen nearly dragged on the floor as the four-year-old German shepherd tried to walk.”

After her medical care, RDR NYC scheduled the transport through Doobert.com and she was on her way to a loving foster home in the Boston area.

Happy Ever After!

As previously shared, Pumpernickel found the forever and happy home she so deserves!

Below she is shown relaxing comfortably in her new home, a long way physically and emotionally from the beginning of her trek.
